Job summary

Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY is hiring a CDL A Truck Driver for Local Routes with home daily. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 5AM-1:30PM, 40 hours per week, with local routes across several counties. Salary is $30 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package and generous PTO.

This full-time role requires at least 2 years of driving experience, a valid NY CDL A license, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds. Some weekend work may be required to support donations and distributions.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid New York State CDL Class A license.
  • Two years of truck driving experience required.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests per FMCSA requirements.
  • Must be able to regularly drive or operate a standard transmission vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Picks up and delivers food donations and other materials.
  • Drives company vehicles safely and follows traffic laws.
  • Inspects power equipment prior to use and maintains vehicle.
  • Keeps CDL and DOT Medical Card up to date.
  • Loads and unloads cargo and verifies loads.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records of donated products.
  • Completes trip reports and ELD daily.
  • Maintains and cleans trucks and refuels as needed.
  • Represents the Food Bank professionally with partners and donors.
  • Assists with food distribution operations and works with other departments.

The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY is hiring a CDL A Truck Driver-Local Routes- Home Daily, $30 an hour with great benefits!

Schedule

Full-Time 40 hours a week

Monday-Friday 5AM-1:30pm

Ulster, Orange, Dutchess, Rockland, Putnam and Sullivan Counties.

Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid New York State CDL Class A driver's license and have two years of truck driving experience. Must be able to pass pre- employment and random drug tests, or meet an exception, as required under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety requirements. Must be able to regularly drive or operate a standard transmission vehicle. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain power equipment certification. Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred.

Physical Requirements: This position will be exposed to extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions. There will be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending, pulling, and reaching. This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus. This position will require the safe use of a power equipment. Employee should have the ability to lift up to 80 pounds without assistance. Regularly drives or operates a standard transmission vehicle.

Position Summary: Responsible for picking up donations from food donors, assisting with food collection, storage, and distribution operations of the Food Bank.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Picks up and delivers food donations, product, and other materials when necessary.
  • Drives and operates all company vehicles in a safe manner and follows all traffic laws.
  • Inspects all power equipment prior to use.
  • Follows all safety standards and procedures.
  • Keeps commercial driver's license and Department of Transportation Medical Card up to date.
  • Assists in the proper handling and storage of product.
  • Loads and unloads cargo, and verifies loads are accurate.
  • Maintains accurate receiving inventory records of donated products.
  • Completes trip reports and ELD daily.
  • Maintains truck in good operating and physical condition - refuels, add fluids, cleans vehicles inside and out daily.
  • Completes pre and post trip inspections daily - reports issues to Manager. Director.
  • Maintains positive representation of the Food Bank with agencies, donors, and outside contacts.
  • Assists with food distribution operations.
  • Works independently and collaboratively with other departments and employees in support of the mission of the Food Bank.
  • Adheres to the Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks on a rotating basis within the department.
  • Works weekends as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
