Job summary

W.S. Connelly & Co., LLC is seeking a professional truck driver based in Nashville, TN. You will operate a loaded commercial vehicle to local and regional locations, plan routes, and ensure on-time deliveries while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and at least 1 year of verifiable driving.
• Clear MVR with low or zero points.
• Ability to pass background and drug screenings.
• Must maintain medical certification for commercial operation.
• Knowledge of HOS and trucking regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a loaded commercial vehicle to local/regional destinations.
• Comply with FMCSA rules and company procedures.
• Inspect vehicles and perform preventative maintenance.
• Load/unload with forklift/Moffett/Donkey.
• Secure product on trailers per guidelines.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Transport goods between centers.
• Document hours and retain fuel receipts.
• Maneuver trucks into loading positions.
• Report defects, accidents, or violations.
• Submit paperwork daily/weekly.

Job description

Location: Nashville, TN

Salary Range: $26.00 - $29.00 plus Cents Per Mile Bonus

Basic Function

Operation of a loaded commercial vehicle in transit to various local and/or regional locations.

Job Duties

• Comply with commercial operation rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and hours-of-service) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical defects and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Safely load/unload product to/from trailers with a forklift, Moffett, or Donkey.
• Secure product on trailers following company/Federal guidelines.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from our retail and distribution centers.
• Document and log work/rest periods and time spent driving and retain fuel receipts.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Report defects, accidents, or violations.
• Submit all associated paperwork daily/weekly on time.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, Qualcomm, ELD’s, Etc.)
• Physical ability for lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing on/off a forklift and in/out of a commercial vehicle
• Physical ability to drive/travel long hours daily
• Thorough knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
• Submit to a background and random drug screens
• Ability to maintain medical certification required to operate commercial class equipment
• Enjoy a great working atmosphere where the scope of the day-to-day is varied and interesting
• At least 21 years old with a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• At least one year of recent verifiable commercial driving experience
• Clear MVR with a zero point or plus point balance
• Forklift, Moffett, or Donkey/Spider experience
