Job summary

Rush-Enterprises is seeking a Body Shop Technician to restore Class 8 diesel equipment to pre-accident condition. You will repair or replace damaged body components, following factory and dealership specifications and I-CAR standards.

You will review repair orders, teardown, identify parts, and ensure all procedures meet documentation and quality checks before moving to paint. The role includes mentoring apprentices and working with a skilled team in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Three years of body shop experience is required.
• ICAR Welding Certificate is required.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability are required.

Responsibilities

• Review each repair order, work order, and estimator’s notes before starting work on Class 8 diesel equipment.
• Complete all repairs according to the repair order documentation or supplements.
• Use manufacturers’ specifications and repair processes accurately.
• Operate frame and measuring equipment per vendor specs.
• Perform initial teardown of Class 8 diesel equipment.
• Identify parts for cut-in and edging.
• Follow factory specifications and company policy (I-CAR standard).
• Perform and sign off on all quality checks before sending the equipment to paint.
• Re-assemble painted equipment and parts and conduct a final quality check before detailing.
• Mentor apprentices or less skilled technicians to develop repair skills.
