Job summary

Responsibilities include teardown, precise measurements, part identification, and proper reassembly with a final quality check before delivery to the detail department. Mentoring apprentices is also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Three years’ body shop experience.
• Knowledge of factory specifications and repair procedures.
• ICAR Welding Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review repair orders and estimator notes before beginning work.
• Disassemble and inspect Class 8 diesel body components.
• Perform repairs per factory specifications and I-CAR standards.
• Use frame and measuring equipment per vendor specs.
• Perform teardown, identify required parts, and reassemble after painting.
• Conduct final quality checks and sign off on repairs.
• Mentor apprentices or less skilled technicians.

Skills

Frame and measuring equipment usage

Knowledge of manufacturers and repair 

Valid driver's license

Education

High school diploma or GED
