Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Clamp Truck Operator to handle and move products across the facility, ensuring timely supply to the corrugator and forming lines. You will perform forklift tasks, inspect materials, weigh scraps, and support safety programs while maintaining housekeeping and accurate paperwork.

The role requires lifting up to 75 lbs, reading a tape measure, and working overtime on various shifts. Candidates may undergo a drug screening after a conditional offer.

Qualifications

• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math and use a computer.
• Ability to work safely and comply with safety regulations.
• Able to work in a non-temperature controlled environment.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs, navigate stairs, bend and kneel.
• Overtime, weekend shifts and various schedules required.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Capable of safely and efficiently operating a powered industrial forklift and clamp forklift
• Perform all required forklift checklists.
• Follow all safety procedures and promote safety programs throughout the facility.
• Support converting and in-line equipment to ensure steady supply of WIP and packing supplies.
• Remove completed product from all converting equipment and transfer to storage areas.
• Supply Corrugator and Forming machine with raw material.
• Inspect product to ensure tags are in place and identify material.
• Scan product and place finished product in the bin location.
• Transport product to the staging area
• Verify truck conditions and safety measures prior to loading trucks.
• Load scrap in bays or truck.
• Read, interpret, and understand all product load tags.
• Minimize product damage through safe handling.
• Inspect finished product to ensure packaging specs are met.
• Ensure all paperwork and system transactions are completed timely and accurately.
• Accurately weigh and fill out daily scrap reports and turn in before shift end.
• Maintain housekeeping excellence per Plant guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work safely and comply with all safety regulations.
• Ability to work in non temperature controlled environment
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 75lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.
• Required to work daily overtime, weekend work and various shifts depending on your position.
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Effective communication skills and excellent coordination skills.

The starting rate is $25.71 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 5 days of paid vacation will be granted after 1 year of service, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
