About the role and team

We have an exciting opportunity to lead a team within our US & Canada Claims operation, with a primary focus on supporting our weekend overnight operations. In this fast-paced environment, you'll lead and develop a high-performing team, navigate complex challenges, drive process improvements, and help ensure we continue delivering exceptional claims support around the clock.

As a Claims Team Lead, you'll play an important role in providing leadership and operational support during critical overnight and weekend hours. You'll leverage your experience to coach and develop team members, drive operational excellence, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure the team is equipped to deliver high-quality outcomes for our customers.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in an operational environment, enjoys developing others, and is comfortable leading during non-traditional business hours. Candidates should have flexibility and availability to work an overnight schedule that includes weekends. Additional details regarding the specific schedule and shift expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

You will collaborate closely with our Claims Leadership team based in Phoenix, Arizona. This hybrid role requires 60% onsite attendance at our Phoenix office, providing opportunities for in-person collaboration while maintaining flexibility for remote work.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Identify opportunities for team development and leverage individual strengths to build a high-performing team.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to influence key metrics and continuously improve claims processes.
  • Serve as a technical functional expert for direct reports and responsible for real time support.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional working experience.
  • 2+ years of front-line leadership experience in a result-driven environment
  • Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and/or mid-shift and overnights
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in claims adjusting.
  • 6+ months of experience on the First Notice of Loss (FNOL) team at Uber
  • 1 year of experience handling sensitive or safety-related user issues within Uber.
  • Strong understanding of claims policies and procedures, with the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of adaptability to evolving business needs.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks across various technology platforms.
  • Experience working with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms) and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience or familiarity with project management

For Phoenix, AZ-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $86,500 per year - USD $96,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
