Job summary

Liberty Mutual in Indianapolis is seeking a Claims Adjuster to manage, investigate, and resolve assigned claims with focus on coverage, liability, and damages within authority levels. You will communicate with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants, assess reserves, negotiate settlements, and coordinate with SIU when needed, while maintaining file integrity and regulatory compliance.

This role requires strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and a solid understanding of insurance

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communications skills required.
• Interpersonal, analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of legal liability, general insurance policy coverage and State Tort Law.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Manages, investigates, and resolves claims.
• Identifies potential suspicious claims and refers to SIU; identifies opportunities for third party subrogation.
• Communicates with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants to gather information and advise proper action.
• Responds to inquiries and provides status reports; updates files and provides comprehensive reports.
