Job summary

Jobtailor in Cincinnati seeks an experienced claims professional to manage complex cyber liability and related first and third party claims. You will join an incident response team and coordinate with privacy counsel, forensics, and restoration specialists to determine coverage and liability.

You will draft coverage letters, negotiate settlements, maintain reserves, and supervise staff as needed, while ensuring accurate documentation and timely payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in related field.
• 4–5 years of property and casualty claims handling experience preferred.
• Completion of or progress toward AIC designation preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication with negotiation ability.
• Ability to travel 5–10% of the time.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage an inventory of complex first and third party cyber liability, privacy, E&O, and media liability claims.
• Participate as a member of the incident response team.
• Collaborate with privacy counsel, digital forensics teams, threat actor communication experts, and digital restoration firms.
• Plan and conduct complex claims investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability, and damages.
• Draft detailed coverage determination letters.
• Analyze and negotiate appropriate claim settlements.
• Maintain reserves within prescribed authority.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as needed.
• Convey complex coverage and settlement information to insureds, claimants, and internal and external partners.
• Authorize payments within assigned authority limits and ensure timely payment.
• Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, including documentation, correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
• May oversee and coach staff and participate in talent selection, development, and performance management decisions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience


• Generally, a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling is preferred


• Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation such as the Associate in Claims (AIC) designation is preferred


• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships and lead negotiations


• Ability to travel 5-10% of the time


• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship


• Foundation in liability claim adjusting


• Prior exposure to first party claims
