Job summary

Hummel Group is seeking a Claims Specialist to provide prompt, effective assistance to clients and third parties reporting and settling claims. The role also acts as a liaison between the agency and carriers and supports staff with claims-related service.

The position requires extensive knowledge of claims procedures, strong negotiation and customer service skills, and the ability to coordinate with clients, carriers, and adjusters.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of claims procedures and insurance coverage.
• Strong negotiating, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
• Ability to interact with employees, customers and vendor companies.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Reports loss/claim information to the appropriate carrier the same day it is received.
• Gives prompt and courteous service on a same-day basis to all clients.
• Takes first reports of claims, organizes claim information, and submits to carrier.
• Follows up with insurance companies for timely and accurate settlement of losses.
• Responds to customer inquiries regarding claim status within 24 hours.
