Job summary

Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland seeks a Claims Representative to manage complex malpractice claims and deliver premier defense for insured physicians and dentists.

You will collaborate with insureds, defense attorneys, and management to assess issues, develop strategies, negotiate settlements, and prepare cases for trial. Training is provided; regionally travel is required.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in a professional business environment.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Medical Mutual is seeking an analytical, self-motivated, and confident individual looking for professional growth to join our nationally respected Claims Department. We are one of the oldest doctor-owned medical professional liability (MPL) insurance companies in the United States and the leading MPL insurer in Maryland.

As a Claims Representative, you will help us fulfill our mission to deliver unrivaled claims defense to our insured physicians and dentists. Y ou will take ownership of the complex malpractice claims assigned to you and deliver exceptional service to our insureds. Working directly with insureds, defense attorneys, and our management team, you will assess medical and legal issues, analyze claims exposures, develop and execute proactive defense strategies, negotiate settlements, and prepare claims for trial. Through this collaboration, you will become a trusted member of the defense team and direct your assigned claims toward appropriate resolutions.

Summary

Commitment:

This is a full-time position located at our office in Hunt Valley, Maryland. We offer a hybrid schedule, with remote work available every Tuesday and Friday.
