Job summary

Great Expressions is hiring for a dental insurance claims processor at our Southfield corporate office. The role handles day-to-day processing of dental insurance claims and payments to accounts, with deadlines and accuracy standards.

The position requires onsite presence on Mondays with remote days Tuesday through Friday, and additional onsite as needed based on business needs. Prior experience in medical billing and knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid laws is a plus.

What you’ll do…

This position will be responsible for handling the day to day functions related to the successful processing of dental insurance claims. This position is responsible for processing payments to accounts according to company policies. The role will complete all phases of Claims Processing training and will be required to meet set deadlines and departmental standards of accuracy.

This position is located at our corporate office in Southfield, MI and requires an onsite presence on Mondays with remote days Tuesday-Friday . Additional onsite presence may be required based on business needs.

• Post fundamental payer payments as assigned
• Follow denial protocols and procedures to correct or adjust claims
• Communicate clearly and concisely via telephone or email
• Assist with departmental admin duties
• Post patient payments to accounts
• Other tasks as requested by direct Manager

What we require you have…

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in medical billing systems a plus
• Understanding of Medicare / Medicaid laws, managed care, and commercial health insurance a plus
• Must possess high degree of professionalism and adaptability
• 10-Key & Alpha Numeric Data Entry with speed and accuracy
• Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills and skill in presenting findings and recommendations
• Proficient in the use of end-user computer applications regarding productivity (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows file management, database, electronic health/medical records and patient billing and other medical information systems
• Team Player
• High level of detail orientation and organizational skills
• Basic math and analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently and professionally in a high volume environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Must have predictable and consistent attendance
