Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking a Claims Architect to lead the architecture for Claims platforms, driving modernization and integrations across the lifecycle. You will translate business objectives into scalable technology designs using .NET, Pega, Oracle, SQL, Azure, and cloud-native patterns.

You will guide cloud-native modernization, API-first architecture, AI-enabled capabilities, and engineering best practices while ensuring security, maintainability, and alignment with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years of application development and 3+ years in architecture leadership roles.
• Deep expertise across architecture domains including cloud, integration, data, and security.
• Hands-on experience modernizing cloud-native apps with microservices and API-first design.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, IaC, and automated testing.
• Experience with BPM solutions, especially Pega-based platforms and workflows.
• Experience evaluating Azure AI Services and AI-enabled capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Create system blueprints and multi-year roadmaps for Claims platforms and integrations.
• Lead cloud-native modernization using Azure services, microservices, containers (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Define patterns for integration and interoperability with API-first design (REST/GraphQL).
• Partner with engineering to set coding standards, reviews, testing, CI/CD, and IaC guidance.
• Define and promote non-functional requirements like performance, security, and observability.
• Evaluate AI opportunities within Claims and ensure governance and security.
