Job summary

QBE Insurance in Leeds is seeking a Claims Adjuster to join the FSM claims team on a hybrid basis. You will investigate, manage and resolve complex professional indemnity claims, determine policy coverage and negotiate settlements within agreed authorities and SLAs.

Reporting to the Claims Team Leader, you will work with brokers and clients, maintain relationships, and contribute to delivering exceptional service while complying with regulatory and statutory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience handling professional negligence claims (preferred).
  • Knowledge of compliance, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Proven experience dealing with policy coverage.
  • Organisational, investigative, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and strong IT skills.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, manage and resolve professional indemnity claims efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs and authority limits while managing claims.
  • Support the implementation of the Claims strategy to enable delivery of overall business targets.
  • Identify and investigate coverage issues to ensure that the company’s liability is in line with its contractual commitments.
  • Reserve accurately to ensure that the company’s liability always stays clear.
  • Consume and respond proactively to messages, advice, and correspondence within agreed timeframes to provide a professional service to brokers and clients.
  • Proactively manage estimates and billings calculated by client’s service providers and brokers, resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain regular interactions with key stakeholders including customers, brokers and internal partners.
  • Manage disputed claims and other material claim issues to resolve and settle claims on an economic basis.

Claims Adjuster – Leeds/Hybrid.

We are recruiting for a Claims Adjuster within the FSM claims team handling professional indemnity claims. You will investigate, manage, and resolve complex claims accurately and proactively, within SLAs and agreed authorities.

Reporting to the Claims Team Leader, you will deliver exceptional claims services by determining policy coverage, investigating, evaluating, and negotiating assigned cases, and providing timely and accurate support for high‑complexity claims management with a particular focus on professional indemnity claims.
