Job summary

The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, seeks a senior information security professional to lead CJIS compliance, cybersecurity governance, and information protection across MPD systems.

You will direct audits, risk assessments, and incident response programs, align projects with CJIS requirements, and provide executive briefings to MPD leadership.

This security‑sensitive role requires strong leadership and collaboration with District partners, with certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• CJIS technical security controls and cybersecurity compliance audit standards.
• Experience interpreting legal/regulatory language into operational controls.
• Strong written and oral communication for policy recommendations and training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as MPD’s senior technical authority for CJIS compliance and cybersecurity governance.
• Lead audits, assessments, and reviews by CJIS Systems Agencies and other authorities.
• Develop and monitor cybersecurity strategies, project plans, budgets, and risk reporting.
• Provide guidance on CJIS security controls including access controls, encryption, auditing, and incident response.
• Coordinate with ISOs, CSOs, legal, and partners to ensure secure operations.
