Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) invites qualified students to join as a Civil Engineering Intern at Cape Canaveral. You will gain hands-on experience in future launch structures, system safety, and production operations while supporting analysis, design, and data projects.

You'll shadow engineers, work full-time for a 10-week summer term, and contribute to a variety of engineering tasks using MS Office and basic engineering tools. ITAR/US Person status is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a STEM degree; Civil Engineering preferred.
• Plan to be enrolled Fall Semester 2027.
• Available for full-time 10 weeks in Summer 2027.
• Working knowledge of basic engineering tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Overview & Responsibilities

As a CivilEngineering Intern at United Launch Alliance you'll gain hands-on experience and will have the opportunity to:

• Performanalysisand assisting in the design and development of futurestructures, performing analysis for both completed and future launches, test, systems engineering, mission integration, quality assurance, system safety. launch operations, and production operations.
• Performdata analysis, analysis methodology improvement projects, software improvement projects, trade studies, design for manufacturer studies, creating or modifying tool designs, processing cause and corrective actions for non-conformances, maintaining production work instructions, supplier management, and component or integrated system test.
• Support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of engineering.

Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns!

Required Education

• At minimum completed Sophomoreyear of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
• High School/GED

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a minimum college GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; cumulative, no rounding. NOTE: An unofficial transcript is required if you are invited for an interview. We recommend you upload it to your profile when you apply.
• Must have a valid driver's license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama; California; Florida;orPueblo, Colorado. For Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC, motorized transportation is recommended.

Role Specific Qualifications

• At minimum, actively pursuing a degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university. Preferred is Civil Engineering Degree.
• Must have plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2027.
• Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
• Working knowledge of basic engineering application tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to complete an internship at any of the below ULA's locations:
  • Cape Canaveral, FL
