Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Transportation Practice Lead for our top-tier civil engineering client in Northern Virginia.

This role focuses on expanding the transportation practice, pursuing large complex projects with VDOT, municipalities, counties, and regional planning bodies, and mentoring staff. The successful candidate will develop business plans, build client relationships, and guide growth strategies while leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver transportation

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of A&E leadership experience in transportation.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Track record of developing and growing markets and cultivating relationships.
• Ability to mentor staff and allocate resources effectively.
• Strong business development skills including writing proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets.
• Demonstrated leadership of transportation contracts in the Northern VA region (VDOT).

This position will play a vital role in expanding our presence in the region, hiring, and mentoring staff, and helping guide the overall direction of our growth and expansion as well as supporting growth throughout the company. The successful candidate must have the ability to pursue and manage large complex transportation projects within the Northern VA region including VDOT as well as municipalities, counties, and regional planning organizations.

Requirements:

The successful applicant must possess the following:

• A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in the A&E industry leading multi-disciplined teams
• B.S. in Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering
• Track record of developing and growing markets and cultivating outstanding internal and external relationships
• Ability to manage and mentor staff of all levels, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
• Excellent communication and business development skills including writing proposals, scopes of work, scheduling, and budgets for projected work
• Demonstrated experience leading transportation contracts in the Northern VA Region
• Alternative Project Delivery experience a plus
• Excellent reputation as a transportation professional
• Strong knowledge of VDOT Policies and Procedures
• Positive attitude and willingness to work with others
