Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical or management certifications are a plus.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to oversee multiple crews.
  • Strong computer skills for recording and reporting progress daily.
  • Excellent customer service and communication with customers and stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic installations and related standards.
  • Reading prints and terminations knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple crews involved in FTTH fiber optic installations within a specific region.
  • Work closely with Lead Technicians to ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Act as the primary customer-facing contact, securing right of entry access for installations.
  • Drive and travel to various sites within the region to oversee operations and ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to plan and schedule installations.
  • Provide coaching and training to Lead Technicians and technicians to enhance skills.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed and promote a safe work environment.
  • Monitor and inspect completed work to ensure quality and identify improvements.
  • Resolve customer concerns or complaints with the customer service team.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure accurate installations.
  • Track and report progress, installation metrics, and obstacles to management.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures across regional teams.

Job description

Telecon Inc., a leading provider of telecommunications network infrastructure services is seeking an experienced and energetic individual looking to take on the position of Field Supervisor in the Phoenix, AZ area and surrounding cities.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as an FTTH Field Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple crews involved in FTTH fiber optic installations within a specific region. You will work closely with directional drillers, equipment operators, hydro vac drivers, sub-contractors and you will be the primary point of contact for customers, securing the necessary right-of-way and ensuring work is scheduled and completed efficiently. Your role will involve driving to various sites and overseeing the operations to ensure quality, adherence to safety standards, and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will report to the Infrastructure Superintendent.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
  • Oversee multiple crews involved in FTTH fiber optic installations within a specific region.
  • Work closely with Lead Technicians to ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Act as the primary customer-facing contact, establishing and maintaining positive relationships to secure right of entry access for installations.
  • Drive and travel to various sites within the region to oversee the operations, ensuring timely and successful completion of work.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to plan and schedule installations, considering customer requirements and project timelines.
  • Provide guidance and support to field staff, addressing any questions, concerns, or issues that arise during installations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and protocols, promoting a culture of safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Monitor and inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met and identify any areas for improvement or corrective actions.
  • Resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly, working closely with the customer service team to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering and design, to ensure accurate and efficient installations.
  • Track and report progress, installation metrics, and any issues or obstacles encountered to the management team.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and adherence across the regional teams.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to Lead Technicians and technicians to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost-saving measures, and increased operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to FTTH fiber optic installations.
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical or management certifications are a plus.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple crews and drive operational success.
  • Strong computer skills for recording and reporting progress daily.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel as required, a valid CDL is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address issues or obstacles during installations.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, and best practices related to fiber optic installations.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic cabling, connectors, drilling, reading prints and terminations.
