Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Civil Superintendent for the South Central District in Mobile, AL. You will lead field operations on heavy civil and highway projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence while coordinating crews, subcontractors and equipment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy civil construction with 2+ in supervision. A high school diploma is required; a construction management degree is preferred. Travel and relocation may be required.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a high school diploma; a construction-related degree is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in heavy civil construction with supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of grading, excavation, paving, and bridge construction.
• Strong leadership and subcontractor management abilities.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Willingness to travel and relocate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily field activities, including scheduling, workforce allocation, and equipment management.
• Enforce safety culture and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
• Monitor progress, quality, and productivity; implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Manage material deliveries and maintain inventory to prevent delays.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports and timecards.
• Mentor and develop field staff to build a strong, capable team.
