Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a qualified Superintendent with a strong background in heavy civil construction, including earthwork, utilities, traffic control, paving and signage. You will oversee projects, ensure safety, manage timelines and coordinate field operations. The Northwest District travels to sites across multiple states.

Travel is required; relocation may be temporary or permanent as needed. 5+ years in construction with supervisory experience, valid driver’s license, and ability to read

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction with 3+ years in supervision on roads, bridges, or water projects.
• Experience in heavy civil construction and supervising craft personnel.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, cost control, schedules and drawings.
• Experience with heavy equipment, earthwork, utilities, traffic control, paving and signage.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications for railroad/transit work.
• Licensed driver and willing to relocate for training or long-term.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop Kiewit staff on site.
• Review and approve labor rates for foremen and workers.
• Manage subcontractor and field management meetings.
• Develop client relations programs on site.
• Attend problem-solving and planning meetings with the client.
• Oversee monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow.
• Review and negotiate change orders.
• Plan project completion and turnover.
• Maintain daily diary and records.
• Ensure timely performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Recommend organizational or procedural improvements.
• Review promotions up to General Foreman.
