Job summary

Valmont is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineering Intern to join the Global Utility Division in Tuscaloosa (Onsite) for Spring/Summer 2027. You will work with our Concrete Design Engineering team on meaningful projects and gain hands-on experience from industry-leading engineers.

This internship provides exposure to design criteria, analysis methods, and manufacturability considerations, with cross-functional collaboration and a structured hands-on learning program.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or senior pursuing Civil, Structural, or Mechanical engineering
• ABET-accredited program required
• CAD skills with drawings to 3D models
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Participate and suggest changes in design criteria, analysis methods and drafting procedures
• Work with a design team from Manufacturing, Procurement, Service, QA and Engineering Services to troubleshoot design errors
• Apply design knowledge to manufacturability considerations
