Job summary

Hydrogen UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Engineer to support the development and execution of complex power projects, including gas turbine generation, solar PV, and BESS. You will lead civil, structural, and geotechnical activities across the full project lifecycle, collaborating with EPCs, consultants, vendors, and internal teams.

You will ensure designs are sound, constructible, and compliant with ASCE 7, ACI 318, and AISC 360, while aligning with project cost and schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7-10 years of experience supporting civil and structural engineering for power generation or large industrial projects.
• Experience overseeing EPC contractors and engineering consultants.
• Knowledge of civil site development, foundations, structural steel, and power facilities.
• Experience reviewing drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical packages.
• Strong technical review, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate civil engineering activities with EPC contractors and consultants.
• Review site layouts, grading, earthwork, drainage, and utilities.
• Ensure civil designs meet project requirements and integrate with plant design.
• Review flood protection, stormwater management, erosion control, and site access.
• Identify opportunities to optimize site layout and earthwork to reduce cost and risk.
• Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and constructability assessments.
• Oversee structural engineering for power generation facilities.
• Review foundations for gas turbines, generators, transformers.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with equipment vendors.
• Ensure designs comply with ASCE 7, ACI 318, and AISC 360; consider wind/seismic/soil.
• Coordinate structural with mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines.
• Oversee geotechnical investigations and apply recommendations.
• Support regulatory communications and stakeholder coordination.
• Maintain project documentation and progress reporting.
