Job summary

Zipline, based in South San Francisco, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer Intern to support ground systems deployment across multiple metros and help integrate UAS infrastructure with the built environment.

You will assist with designing charging sites, foundations, pads, and drawings, perform structural calculations, and help prepare permitting documentation while working with Real Estate & Development, Systems Engineering, and Tower Engineering.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least the second year of an undergraduate Civil or Structural Engineering program.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and drafting software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support civil and structural design of new Zipline sites, including charging infrastructure and foundational elements.
• Perform structural calculations and help develop drawings and design documentation for permitting and construction.
• Help develop reusable design standards for charging sites and adapt to real-world site constraints.
• Support permitting and regulatory reviews with municipalities and inspectors.
• Collaborate with Real Estate & Development, Systems Engineering, Tower Engineering and deployment teams.
