Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer Intern or Co-op to collaborate with our team on drawings, calculations, and client deliverables. The role interfaces with Nexus, clients, and other engineering disciplines to provide cohesive packages.

You will gain hands-on experience in drafting with AutoCAD and Revit, review codes, and assist senior engineers, while learning our engineering workflows in a consulting setting.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Ability to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and others.
• Effective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a must.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit or other drafting software desired.
• Exposure to STAADPRO or similar packaged finite element programs a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform existing drawing research
• Design 2-D graphics using AutoCAD, and 3-D graphics using Revit
• Update Nexus graphics standards
• Develop Nexus templates for the Structural Department
• Review codes and create project design specifications
• Assist experienced Structural Engineers with their activities as requested
