Job Description

BAE Systems, one of the world's largest defense contractors and a Fortune 500 company, is hiring a Civil/Structural Engineer - Facilities to support modernization and sustainment of energetic manufacturing processes at Holston Army Ammunition Plant.

This position supports the Ordnance Systems, Inc. (OSI) Business at our Kingsport, TN facility and reports onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Support design and construction projects to increase, modernize, and sustain chemical production capacity at HSAAP.
• Perform technical tasks including planning, design, analysis, and engineering inputs for construction and maintenance.
• Guide strategic planning, estimating, and project scope decisions related to energetic production facilities.
• Provide technical oversight during field installation and commissioning of equipment.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Manager to prioritize projects and define technical requirements.
• Review current production processes and develop equipment or technology recommendations.
• Prepare project proposals, scopes of work, and estimates for potential funding.
• Ensure safety, quality, and cost control during project execution.
• Lead technical teams, manage risks, and supervise subcontractors.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in chemical process industry or 6+ years relevant experience.
• Experience in project or construction estimating, engineering design, and commissioning.
• Broad engineering experience in areas such as Civil, Structural, Process, Machine Design, or Pumps and Piping.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including UFC.
• Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Inventor) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective communication skills and ability to interface with operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering License.
• 10+ years of experience, especially in energetics and DoD projects.
• Experience with chemical manufacturing involving acids, bases, solvents, and safety regulations.

Compensation:

Full-Time Salary Range: $91,980 - $156,330, based on market and candidate qualifications.
