Job Description

BAE Systems, a leading defense contractor and Fortune 500 company, is hiring a Chemical Process Engineer - Facilities to support modernization and sustainment of energetic manufacturing processes at Holston Army Ammunition Plant. This position supports the Ordnance Systems, Inc. (OSI) Business at our Kingsport, TN facility and reports onsite.

Responsibilities

• Support design, construction, and modernization projects to increase chemical production capacity.
• Perform engineering analyses and develop equipment or technology recommendations.
• Oversee technical aspects during installation and commissioning of equipment.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for project planning and execution.
• Review and approve design packages, supervise subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Develop project proposals, scopes of work, and estimates.
• Lead technical teams, manage risks, and ensure project completion within scope, schedule, and budget.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years experience in the chemical process industry or 6+ years relevant experience.
• Experience in project estimation, design, construction, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of engineering software (AutoCAD, Inventor, MS Office).
• Effective communication skills and ability to interface with various teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering License.
• 10+ years experience, especially in energetics and DoD projects.
• Experience with safety regulations, environmental standards, and chemical manufacturing facilities.
