Job summary

IntrepidGS is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to support design, construction, and lifecycle maintenance for major facilities and renovations. You will provide civil/site drawings, structural design, and water/sewer layouts, using AutoCAD and related tools.

The role requires 4+ years' civil/structural experience on U.S. Government/military installations, strong code knowledge, PE is desirable, and periodic travel to sites. Active Secret clearance is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• 4+ years of civil/structural design engineering experience on a U.S. Government or military installation preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license desirable.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and applicable industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and designs, and water/sewer designs.
• Perform engineering analyses from concept through final design and construction management.
• Review project plans and specifications for technical adequacy and compliance.
• Coordinate with AFCENT TSG and other disciplines to ensure safety, operability, and constructability.
• Monitor project phases and maintain up-to-date engineering data; verify design compliance during construction.

As the Civil Structural Engineer, you will provide engineering services in support of the design, construction, operation, and lifecycle maintenance and contribute to major facility improvements and renovations. Provide support and civil/structural knowledge for facilities planning, programming, design, construction, and equipment installation for required Project facilities and infrastructure.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Must be capable of civil design services including preparation of civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and designs, and water/sewer designs based on existing local utilities and facility load and use.Perform all aspects of engineering analysis and design for projects from concept stages through final design and construction management including knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.Review and analyze preliminary, interim, find project plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.Review and analyze preliminary, interim, find project plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.Review and provide general monitoring on Host Nation funded project development work for new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for real property facilities.Interpret methods and approaches in developing project calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards.Review and provide general monitoring on conceptual studies and sketches that indicate pertinent project features, material, equipment, and specifications.Monitor all project phases with appropriate managers and staff elements and shall maintain current engineering data for assigned projects.Coordinate projects with AFCENT TSG for engineers in other disciplines, operations personnel (e.g., Electric, Power Production, HVAC, Structures, Pavements and Equipment, and Utilities shops) and other U.S. Government entities to include Wing Safety, Force Protection, Security Forces, Communications, Fire Department, and Medical Group to verify safety, constructability, operability, maintainability, and all project considerations have been addressed.Monitor and report on assigned projects and review specifications and schedules.Verify construction for design compliance and assist with resolution of differences between the U.S. and Host Nation building code.Efficiently use computers/computer software including Microsoft Office, computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs (AutoCAD), and project tracking programs (Microsoft Project), GIS, and other engineering calculation software packages to solve engineering problems and facilitate work as needed.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience related to job duties and functionsFour (4) or more years of civil/structural and design engineering work experience on a U.S. Government/ Military installationA Licensed Civil Engineer is preferred.LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:Professional Engineer (PE) is desirableKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems.Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2012 or later and use AutoCAD to create presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept and statement of work requirements for project execution.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.Must be capable of traveling between ADAB TSG and AUAB TSG sites, as required, up to 4 times per year (4 working days, two travel days) to backfill and attend meetings.SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active Secret RequiredIntrepid Acquisition Holdings, LLCwww.intrepidgs.comIntrepid Acquisition Holdings, LLC.
