Job summary

David Mason + Associates in St. Louis seeks an entry-level Civil Staff Engineer to support the civil team on design and field tasks. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, 1+ year of experience, and has passed the FE exam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 1+ year of Civil Engineering experience (internships count).
• FE exam passed or in progress with progress toward PE license.

Responsibilities

• Performs site investigations and inspections and documents findings during construction.
• Prepares engineering plans using AutoCAD/Revit or similar software.
• Produces final construction drawings, details, and specifications.
• Prepares reports and calculations including assessments and cost opinions.
• Assists project managers and communicates with clients on projects.
• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams and participates in meetings.

Our St. Louis Civil team is looking for an entry-level Civil Staff Engineer who is ready to jump in and support the team.

Our ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree, has 1+ years of Civil Engineering experience, including internships & has successfully passed the FE exam.

Essential Duties:

• Performs site investigations and inspections in the field during and post construction, ensuring proper documentation and coordination as assigned.
• Prepares engineering plans utilizing AutoCAD/Revit or similar design platforms.
• Assists in production of final construction drawings, details, and specifications.
• Prepares reports and calculations based on assigned project(s) including assessments, analysis, opinions of cost and other key components.
• Assists project managers as requested.
• Assists with client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
• Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Attends client and public meetings as needed.
• Participates in and conducts research on local regulations based on project location(s).
• Participates in business development efforts as requested.
• Provides technical support and assistance to project teams in the preparation and delivery of project deliverables.
• Works collaboratively with project managers, senior engineers, and project team members to support the coordination, completeness, and accuracy of project deliverables and technical requirements.
• Demonstrate the potential or ability to lead technical efforts as part of the overall design process.
• Follow and abide by the DMA employee and safety manuals.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
