Elsdon Group in Columbia, SC is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on civil/site development projects. The role requires oversight of sitework, utilities, grading, drainage and coordination with subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in civil construction, utilities and site development, with ability to read plans and manage crews, schedules and quality across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent or equivalent.
• Strong background in civil construction, utilities, grading and site development.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations from start to completion.
• Manage subcontractors, crews, equipment and materials on site.
• Coordinate grading, excavation, utilities, drainage and sitework activities.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure work stays on track.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, engineers and clients.
• Monitor quality, safety and productivity across the jobsite.
• Conduct daily site inspections and progress meetings.
• Identify and resolve issues in the field.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to specification.
