Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Civil Engineer to lead and grow our civil site practice in Charleston, SC. This strategic leadership role requires a dynamic professional with a proven track record in business development, staff management, and project delivery. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, local market insight, and a strong desire to build a thriving practice in the Lowcountry region.
The Site Civil Engineer will manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee design and permitting for site development projects, mentor junior engineers, and maintain high levels of quality and client satisfaction. This role plays a critical part in shaping the direction and financial performance of the site civil group.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Drive strategic growth initiatives in coordination with office and practice leaders
Establish and expand the firm's presence in the region through marketing and business development efforts
Manage the departments financial budget and effectively allocate resources
Lead proposal preparation and presentations for new opportunities
Provide senior-level technical guidance to project managers and staff
Identify and fulfill staffing needs for the site civil group
Conduct interviews and support hiring efforts for the team
Lead staff performance management and provide consistent mentorship
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, set goals, and coach team members for continued growth
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution
Active Professional Engineer (PE) License or equivalent
10+ years of relevant experience in site civil engineering
Demonstrated success in project management and business development
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
