Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Illinois license in good standing.
• 3+ years of litigation experience focusing on civil rights law.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent oral communication/public speaking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel within Illinois as required.

Responsibilities

• Represent police officers and others in civil rights and related cases in federal and state courts.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and case strategy development.
• Draft pleadings and motions, argue substantive motions, and handle discovery.
• Prepare and assist in trial proceedings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop litigation strategies.
• Provide risk and legal guidance to clients.
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
• Engage in settlement negotiations when appropriate.
