Job summary

The University of Michigan seeks a thoughtful ECRT Associate to review discrimination and harassment allegations and engage with campus units to resolve matters where appropriate. The position is based onsite in Ann Arbor, with occasional evenings and weekends.

You will draft memoranda, conduct climate assessments, provide training, and communicate policies to involved parties while collaborating with campus partners to foster an inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• 0–2 yrs of relevant experience investigating harassment and discrimination.
• Fast-paced work with prescriptive timelines.
• Ability to apply university civil rights policy guidance.
• Knowledge of federal and state civil rights laws and guidance.
• Support in implementing UM civil rights policies and procedures.
• Resolve matters promptly and manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
• Provide consulting and educational programming resources.
• Demonstrate commitment to university mission and inclusive culture.
• Willingness to work outside standard hours on occasion.
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and respond to complaints involving civil rights, harassment, and disability concerns.
• Conduct reviews, gather and analyze information.
• Draft internal memoranda and summary reports.
• Conduct climate assessments.
• Hold informational conversations to resolve matters as needed.
• Communicate concerns and policies via email and conversations.
• Communicate and collaborate with campus partners through consultations and memoranda.
• Maintain complete files and records in ECRT's database.
• Provide training and consultation on civil rights and harassment matters.
