Job summary

Hunter Environmental is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to lead fast-moving civil infrastructure projects across Greater Boston and MBTA service areas. You will own projects from planning through closeout, coordinating field crews, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and documentation to keep transportation systems operating safely and efficiently.

This is not a generic PM role. You’ll navigate shutdown/diversion work, winter operations, and high-visibility public works programs, with

Qualifications

• Experience managing civil/construction projects in public infrastructure.
• Ability to coordinate office and field activities and teams.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and contract compliance skills.
• Knowledge of safety standards and field operations management.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/heavy construction projects from planning through closeout.
• Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, materials, schedules, inspections, and documentation.
• Monitor budgets and change orders; ensure timely project reporting.
• Communicate with stakeholders including inspectors and public-sector clients.
• Identify risks on site and remove blockers to protect schedule and budget.
• Support winter operations and high-intensity shutdown/diversion work.
• Utilize PM software (e.g., HCSS) for tracking and execution.
