Job summary

CWE, an Apex Company, seeks a Civil Project Manager (PE) to lead design engineers on residential, commercial, and industrial projects in California. You will work with the Director of Engineering to ensure quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery, while mentoring junior staff.

Eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus; annual pay range listed; role emphasizes QA/QC, Engineer of Record duties, and coordination with clients and agencies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil engineering experience and 2+ years in public infrastructure design.
• California PE License.
• Excellent knowledge of design software such as Civil 3D or similar.
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals.
• Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
• Strong project management and decision-making abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset with leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Problem-solver who can think both creatively and technically.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil engineering projects from planning through construction.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
• Lead design efforts for grading, drainage, utilities, and site development.
• Prepare and review plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports for construction.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, consultants, and internal teams.
• Oversee permitting, entitlements, and regulatory approvals.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and deliverables to ensure quality and timelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee technical staff.
• Support construction activities including submittal review, RFIs, and field issue resolution.
• Manage engineering projects with hands-on design oversight and technical direction.
