Job summary

IAPMO Group in Chicago, IL is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to deliver excavation, earthworks, demolition, sitework and underground utilities across Chicagoland projects. This role combines project management with commercial responsibility, coordinating field operations, crews, trucks and subcontractors to keep jobs moving safely, efficiently and profitably.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of construction experience with project management responsibility.
• Experience in excavation, earthworks, demolition, site development or heavy civil work.
• Strong ability to read drawings, manage costs and change orders.
• Proficient in Excel and standard project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil projects from mobilization through closeout.
• Coordinate crews, trucks, hauling, equipment, materials and subs.
• Plan work sequences and short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Review drawings, specs and quantities; resolve field questions.
• Track costs, production, materials, commitments and progress vs budget.
• Identify scope changes, price them, and handle change orders.
• Coordinate procurement, RFIs, submittals, permits and inspections.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, GC, vendors and team.
• Support safe practices and project closeout.
