Job summary

Nbutexas is seeking a Civil Project Manager in Herndon, VA to lead complex civil engineering projects from planning to completion. The role emphasizes client management, budget adherence, and cross-functional collaboration with design and development teams.

You will oversee design efforts, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with municipal codes while fostering strong client relationships and guiding cost control and billing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience with at least 3 years in assistant project management roles.
• Land development engineering experience on residential and commercial projects.
• Thorough understanding of municipal codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Registered Professional Engineer in relevant field strongly preferred.
• Experience with stormwater modeling, hydrologic calculations, and open channel/detention basin design.

Responsibilities

• Oversee execution and management of complex civil engineering projects to ensure timeliness and budget compliance.
• Lead, supervise, and review work of project staff to uphold quality standards.
• Foster and maintain positive client relationships, addressing technical and billing inquiries as needed.
• Prepare and direct design, specifications, estimates, and reports for land development projects.
• Monitor project progress, costs, billing, and accounts receivable to drive profitability.
• Collaborate with internal departments and support business development initiatives, marketing presentations, and client meetings.

Civil Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline
