Kier & Wright Civil Engineers and Surveyors in Austin, TX seeks a Project Engineer (Land Development). You will support project teams, develop drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and coordinate with consultants and public agencies.

Ideal candidate has 0–5 years of land development experience, EIT preferred, and ability to manage time, budgets, and schedules; benefits include remote, hybrid or in-office work models and a competitive pay scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 0–5 years of land development experience.
• EIT preferred or exam scheduled.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam preferred.
• Experience with Agtek or Hydrology/Hydraulic Software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team.
• Develops working drawings for civil design plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D (grading, drainage, utility, stormwater management and street frontage improvements) from sketches.
• Uses engineering judgment to perform duties and knows when to ask questions, seek assistance or perform independent research.
• Manages personal time allotted to various tasks in order to meet obligations of one or more projects, including budget, quality and schedule.
• Provide accurate design of on-site and off-site improvements for the planning and construction of commercial, industrial, and/or high-density residential projects that are ready for construction.
• Can provide accurate design of grading, drainage, utilities and stormwater treatment with minimal input from engineer of record.
• Performs civil engineering calculations, SWPPP’s and other engineering reports.
• Effectively interacts with peers, clients, and sub-consultants.
