Job summary

Kier & Wright in California is seeking a Project Engineer to support project teams. In this role, you will gain experience and take on tasks with supervision, while learning to prepare technical engineering plans.

You will collaborate with technicians to complete civil design plans and assist in all technical aspects of projects. The position involves developing drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D, conducting engineering calculations, coordinating with private consultants and public agencies, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
0–5 years of experience in land development.
EIT or exam scheduled preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam preferred.
Knowledge of MS Office and Adobe applications.

Responsibilities

Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team.
Develops working drawings for civil design plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D (grading, drainage, utility, stormwater management and street frontage improvements) from sketches.
Uses engineering judgment to perform duties and seeks assistance when needed.
Manages time to meet project obligations including budget, quality and schedule.
Designs on-site and off-site improvements for commercial, industrial, and high-density residential projects.
Designs grading, drainage, utilities and stormwater treatment with minimal input from the engineer of record.
Performs civil engineering calculations and SWPPPs.
Interacts with peers, clients, and sub-consultants.
