Job summary

Haley Ward is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, organize, and control projects, primarily municipal water, sewer and roadway infrastructure, across planning to implementation. You will work with a team in a collaborative, growth-minded environment at Haley Ward in Bangor, ME.

The role emphasizes QA/QC, budget and schedule adherence, and interaction with regulatory staff. A PE or EIT track is required, with strong math, communication skills, and AutoCAD proficiency.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.
• PE license with a minimum of 4 years of related experience OR EIT on track to attain PE with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Sound mathematical skills are required.
• A working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and control project activities to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and QA/QC guidelines.
• Prepare professional, economical, and effective plans and specifications for each project.
• Design concepts and calculations for engineering projects; monitor QA/QC and project status.
• Communicate with regulatory staff and represent clients at agency hearings as needed.
• Advise field engineers, contractors, and inspectors during construction.
• Assist in preparing proposals including scope, schedule and manpower estimates.
• Promote new business for the company and area of expertise.
