Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead land development and infrastructure projects in the Southeast. You will work directly with clients and multi‑discipline teams, applying technical expertise to complex site design challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design.
• Strong experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.
• Progressive experience in planning, design, and permitting of civil site development and drainage improvement projects.
• Strong understanding of stormwater hydraulics and hydrology.
• Experience preparing grading plans, drainage reports, and construction documents.
• Ability to write technical specifications and bid documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with clients.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow.

• Lead permitting efforts and coordinate with local and state regulatory agencies.

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.
• Perform construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to model and refine designs.

Schedule:

On-site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
