Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead land-development and infrastructure design in the Orlando area. You will collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality site work, including water, sewer, and drainage systems.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 5+ years’ design experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with strong emphasis on drainage and permitting.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design.
• Strong experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications.
• Progressive experience in planning, design, and permitting of civil site development and drainage improvement projects.
• Strong understanding of stormwater hydraulics and hydrology.
• Experience preparing grading plans, drainage reports, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations, grading plans, drainage reports, and construction documents.

• Develop technical specifications and bid documents for construction projects.
• Manage and execute project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.
• Perform construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to model and refine designs.

Schedule

On-site: Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
