Job summary

OEI is seeking a Civil Professional Engineer to lead design and oversight of infrastructure projects across the United States. You will apply advanced engineering principles to roads, bridges, water systems, and public facilities, ensuring safety, budget, and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and help drive sustainable, innovative solutions while staying current with codes and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • Active Professional Engineer license in the United States.
  • Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, REVIT and related tools.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed civil engineering designs, calculations, and specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments for compliance with standards.
  • Prepare and review reports, cost estimates, and construction plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, agencies, and internal teams.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and emerging technologies.

About the Role:

The Civil Professional Engineer (PE) plays a critical role in designing, developing, and overseeing infrastructure projects that meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards across the United States. This position involves applying advanced engineering principles to plan, analyze, and execute civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, water systems, and public facilities. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and environmental regulations. A key outcome of this role is to deliver sustainable and innovative engineering solutions that enhance community infrastructure and public safety. The Civil PE will also provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, REVIT and similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to civil engineering projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with project management software and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and sustainable design practices.
  • Experience working on large-scale public infrastructure projects.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or specialized civil engineering areas.
