Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Municipal Engineer to lead civil, municipal, and environmental projects in collaboration with CAD Technicians and field staff. The role focuses on detailed design, project coordination, and client communications to deliver on schedule and budget.

The ideal candidate has a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, 10+ years of design experience, and Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred/desired.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.
• Previous roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design experience desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Municipal Engineer. Our team works with local communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff in various capacities.
