Job summary

Kleinfelder Inc is seeking a full-time Senior Municipal Engineer in Coralville, Iowa. This role involves working on civil, municipal, and environmental projects with local communities.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and at least 10 years of design experience, along with an Iowa PE license or the ability to obtain one.

Key responsibilities include preparing technical reports and modifying construction plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and costs for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers during all aspects of construction.

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Municipal Engineer. Our team works with local communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff in various capacities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare ormodifyplans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, andcost and quantity estimatesfor public worksprojects.
• WorkwithConstructionObservers/ResidentTechniciansduringallfacetsofconstruction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.
• Clientcontactincludingattendanceatboard orcouncilmeetings.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required.
• Minimum10yearsofcivilengineeringdesignexperiencepreferred/desired.
• IowaPE licenseor ability toobtainwithin1yearpreferred.
• Previousroadway,stormsewer,sanitarycollectionsewersandwaterdistributiondesignexperiencedesired.
• Strongwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillsrequired.
