Job summary

Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, an Am Law 200 firm, seeks an experienced paralegal for our Houston office. The role emphasizes teamwork, organization, and ownership in a fast-paced in-office setting.

You will support attorneys in civil litigation, manage discovery, draft summaries, and handle motion-related tasks. Strong Word/PowerPoint/Excel skills and iManage familiarity are preferred; a paralegal certificate plus degree is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years paralegal experience in a law firm.
• Civil litigation experience required.
• Familiarity with web-based legal research.
• Experience working with paperless files; iManage a plus.
• Must pass background/drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with preparation of civil cases for trial.
• Discovery and records management.
• Summarize medical and employment records; create chronologies; summarize discovery responses.
• Prepare meet and confer correspondence and oppositions to motions.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
