Job summary

Genuine Search Group is partnering with a national AV-rated defense firm recruiting for its California General Liability practice. Associate level candidates are welcomed as the group expands, offering hands-on litigation experience and direct mentorship from Partners.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years civil defense litigation experience, ideally in general liability, mass tort, toxic tort, construction defect, or insurance defense.

Qualifications

• Active California bar license in good standing.
• JD from ABA-approved law school.
• 2–3 years civil defense litigation experience.
• Experience in general liability, mass tort, toxic tort, construction defect, or insurance defense.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Trial, mediation, or junior associate mentoring experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and responding to complaints, motions, and written discovery.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Attending hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Managing an active caseload (up to ~20 matters).
• Working directly with clients to develop litigation strategy.

We're partnered with a national AV-rated defense firm recruiting experienced attorneys for its California General Liability practice. Our client is open to Associate level candidates as the practice group expands. This is an opportunity to join a small, collaborative practice group where you'll get hands-on litigation experience and direct mentorship from Partners.

The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with the following:

• Drafting and responding to complaints, motions, and written discovery
• Taking and defending depositions
• Attending hearings, mediations, and trials
• Managing an active caseload (up to ~20 matters)
• Working directly with clients to develop litigation strategy

Qualifications:

An active California bar license in good standing and JD from an ABA-approved law school is required for consideration. Interested candidates should have at least 2-3 years of civil defense litigation experience, ideally in general liability, mass tort, toxic tort, construction defect, or insurance defense. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for success, and trial, mediation, or junior associate mentoring experience is a significant plus.

Salary is between $120K–$150K commensurate with experience, with quarterly bonuses based on billable hours and annual reviews for raises.
