Job summary

Confidential Employer in California seeks a civil litigation attorney to handle matters from inception through resolution, with hybrid or in-office options in Irvine or San Diego.

You'll manage case strategy, discovery, pleadings, and prepare briefs, with strong emphasis on client communication and independent work within a collaborative team.

This role offers hands-on trial experience across negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation, and growth toward greater responsibility.

Qualifications

• Active California State Bar member in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year of civil litigation experience.
• Insurance defense experience required for more senior candidates.
• Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Handle civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Manage cases, deadlines, legal strategy, discovery, pleadings, motions, and related litigation responsibilities.
• Develop and execute effective case strategies in collaboration with attorneys and clients.
• Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive briefs, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide thoughtful, responsive legal guidance.
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues and exercise sound judgment throughout each matter.
• Manage multiple cases and deadlines while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.
• Take ownership of assignments and actively contribute to favorable client outcomes.
