Job summary

Light Path Law in Fort Myers, Florida, is seeking a motivated Civil Litigation Attorney to manage a civil litigation caseload from intake through resolution. You will work closely with our paralegal and case management teams and report to the firm’s Chief Attorney.

The role requires a J.D., active Florida Bar status, and 3+ years of civil litigation experience. You will draft pleadings, conduct research, take depositions, negotiate settlements, and collaborate with staff to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Florida Bar member in good standing.
• At least 3 years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong research, writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active civil litigation caseload from evaluation through settlement or trial.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Take and defend depositions; attend hearings, mediations and trial.
• Communicate regularly with clients about case status and strategy.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
• Supervise and collaborate with paralegals and support staff on case preparation.
• Meet filing deadlines and maintain accurate case records.

Position Summary
