Job summary

Confidential Employer, a California law firm, seeks an attorney with active California Bar membership and civil litigation experience to join our Newport Beach on-site team, with flexibility for occasional remote work. The role offers partnership-tracked growth, mentorship, and exposure to complex litigation in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include managing cases from filing to resolution, drafting motions, handling depositions, and advising clients on contracts and risk

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• 1+ years of civil litigation experience; 2+ years preferred.
• Experience drafting substantive motions and managing litigation matters.
• Deposition experience strongly preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize cases, and work collaboratively.
• Motivated to grow professionally and take ownership of meaningful legal work.

• Draft compelling motions, pleadings, briefs, and other substantive legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions, attend hearings, and advocate for clients in court.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys on complex litigation and advisory matters.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide practical, results-driven legal guidance.
• Gain exposure to contract negotiations, business transactions, and risk management.

Location

Newport Beach, CA | On-site with flexibility. We offer a collaborative, office-based environment with flexibility to work from home when needed. Candidates must reside in Orange County. We are also open to exceptional candidates for our Oakland, CA office.

Note

Candidates must have an active California Bar license, 1+ years of civil litigation experience, and the ability to work on-site. We're especially interested in attorneys who enjoy taking ownership of cases and want to grow their litigation careers.
