Direct Counsel in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney Associate to join a subrogation and civil litigation team. The role targets a litigator with 4+ years of substantive civil litigation experience for substantial case responsibility and growth.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
• 4+ years of substantive civil litigation experience is required.
• Strong experience in discovery, motion practice, depositions, and case management.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation and subrogation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Handle depositions, court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Develop litigation strategies, evaluate liability and damages, and negotiate settlements.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Prepare cases for trial and manage litigation deadlines.
