Job summary

Bohler's Herndon office is seeking a Project Engineer to advance technical and professional growth. You’ll lead site design for complex projects, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to project delivery across commercial, residential, and industrial developments in the Herndon/VA area.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering with 6+ years in civil/site design, grading, drainage, and permitting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 6+ years of civil/site design, grading, drainage, and permitting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater design software.
• Strong understanding of local zoning and regulatory standards.
• PE license preferred; EIT in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate site layouts, grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Assess zoning, site conditions, and environmental constraints.
• Perform stormwater management calculations using Civil 3D.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors.
• Review reports, construction documents, and cost estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical reviews.
• Assist with client communication, permitting, and agency coordination.
